Congratulations are in order for the Cybersecurity Club!  Over the weekend, Cybersecurity Club students from the University of Maryland College Park qualified for the final round of the Maryland Cyber Challenge and Conference (MDC3).

In the second qualifying round, the students were analyzed a forensic image of a compromised Windows computer to uncover how and when the machine was attacked while also completing various cryptography challenges.

The Cybersecurity Club placed as one of the top 8 competitors among high school and college teams.  They will compete in the MDC3 finals at the Baltimore Convention Center on October 22, 2011, where each first-place team member will receive a $5,000 scholarship, and each member of the second-place teams will receive a $2,000 scholarship to support their higher education
