Seeking candidates with Fire Protection/Fire Science/Fire & Safety Engineering backgrounds (BS, MS, or PhD desired) to provide technical support to the U.S. Navy Fleet in the areas of shipboard fire protection systems, damage control, and damage and fire recoverability. Fire protection systems include both water and chemical-based systems such as Aqueous Film Forming Form (AFFF), Halon, magazine and miscellaneous sprinkling, water mist and fire detection systems.
Knowledge of fire risk and safety analysis, fire investigations, fire dynamics, and related failure analysis desired, as well as understanding testing and evaluation of technologies/systems/equipment/components to meet required Navy shipboard fire performance and design requirements by applying commercial standards and military specifications.
Duty location is Philadelphia, PA.
Expected travel is estimated at 30%, and may be emergent as warranted.
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required!
