Local TV Broadcasters Tour the Seigel Learning Center

March 6, 2014

On October 11th, The Seigel Learning Center hosted the Washington DC Chapter of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE). This chapter meeting included a presentation by Mr. Marty Ronning on the design elements of the SLC, its history in the 2.5GHz broadcast spectrum and a facility tour. The attendees were impressed by the attention to detail in the SLC design and enjoyed a lively question and answer session during the tour.

This event was featured in the March 2014 issue of the SMPTE Motion Imaging Journal. Published eight times annually, the SMPTE Motion Imaging Journal is a view into the technical world of motion imaging science. Each issue has a national circulation to over 8000 SMPTE members, offices and libraries. Each edition covers a special topic including file-based workflow, compression, 3D, audio, distribution formats, advances in lighting, sustainability, digital cinema and much more.
